Texas Collie Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, founded in December of 2008. Texas Collie Rescue is made up of individuals that love Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties). We are made up of all volunteers with a mission to help these dogs. Our goal is to place them in the best possible permanent homes. These Collies and Shelties may be found throughout the State of Texas and surrounding states as strays or in shelters, dog pounds, humane organizations, or even homes that for some reason are no longer able to take care of their beloved pet(s).
MISSION STATEMENT:
All Collies and Shelties are evaluated and provided with any necessary veterinary care to give them the best possible quality of life. They are spayed or neutered, checked and treated for heartworms and other internal or external parasites, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. They are maintained in loving foster homes to return them to health, their temperament evaluated, behavioral issues are improved, and then wait for that right family to provide their forever home.
Potential adopters are evaluated to determine if they have a commitment to provide a loving home with proper care and concern for their new family member, as well as to determine if the family and individual Collie or Sheltie will be a good math for each other.
Texas Collie Rescue also provides educational resources to help people learn about the proper care and special needs of Collies and Shelties.
